Superhero Me
An inclusive attitudes survey in 2016 revealed that only 1 in 10 Singaporeans are confident of interacting with children with special needs. Superhero Me is a ground-up inclusive arts movement that serves as a platform for typical children to socialise with those from special needs communities and advocate for inclusion through the arts.
With a focus on inclusive programming, creative advocacy and strategic cross-sector partnerships to shape the narrative of inclusion in Singapore, it aims to realise and harness the creative potential of children who might not usually access creative arts through a range of art forms and partnerships with artists. Regular inclusive arts training workshops build professional abilities of creatives, art practitioners, social change champions, educators and volunteers to adopt a more inclusive approach in their work, while content drawn from its programmes and community of children inspire an artful, creative take towards advocating for inclusion.
