There is no health without mental health. In a crowded landscape, we will focus on the mental health of caregivers and seniors, including those with dementia.
78% of people with mental health conditions do not seek help
30% of seniors in Singapore are lonely. 4% are depressed
1 in 3 seniors above the age of 80 have dementia
Mental health will be a new horizontal in our portfolio, and an engine of growth and impact.
We believe there is no health without mental health, and that the divide between the mind and the brain is an artificial one.
Many diseases, including metabolic disorders, are linked to mental disorders and share risk factors. This is the starting point from which we will develop a more holistic approach to tackling mental health challenges.
We will do this via an ecosystem approach, building bridges between sectors, organisations and disciplines. We will focus on both treatment and prevention, exploring technological tools that allow reticent patients to self-help or that improve capabilities and confidence of professionals.
We will apply a “Solutions Stack” lens, which views challenges as solved by a combination of solutions, instead of seeking a silver bullet.
Crucially, we will operate on the assumption that advocacy will never fully succeed. There will always be a proportion of the population who remain reticent to seeking help. We will not leave them out.
