Integrating palliative care into surgical care for people with advanced cancer at NCCS & SGH
Palliative care starting at the point of the surgeon’s clinics is important to foster earlier serious illness conversations to ensure goal-concordant care as well as early relief from pain and symptoms.
This programme also includes developing a cancer rehab ecosystem, to support these patients with prehab (before the surgery) and continued post-surgery rehab from the hospital into the community.
